WEATHER
Are you ready for another beautiful Spring day? I’m going to trip over something if I keep looking up at all those gorgeous cloud formations. 🙂 Today we’re going to see a high in the low 70’s with partly cloudy skies becoming mostly cloudy by late afternoon. Overnight we’ll only go down to the low 50’s because of the blanket of clouds keeping us warm. Very nice. Enjoy this Wednesday!!

In April 2010, the Deep Water Horizon drilling rig failed catastrophically, killing 11 people and producing the largest oil spill in U.S. history. Join VIMS alumnus Michael Carron, Director of the Gulf of Mexico Research Initiative, as he recounts the immediate impacts of the spill, and explores what science tells us about its long-term effects. GMRI is an independent, 10-year research program established by BP to investigate the impacts of oil and dispersants on the Gulf ecosystem and public health.
The lecture is the April installment of the 2015 After Hours series, which helps mark VIMS’ 75th anniversary with presentations following the “Then, Now, and Next” theme of our anniversary celebration.
Reservations to this free public lecture series are required due to limited space. Registration for this event will open in mid-March. Call 804-684-7846 for further information.
