We’ll be sunny with a high in the low 70’s and a low tonight in the low 50’s. Winds will be gently blowing from the West – very nice. 🙂 If you have to be in the office today, get outside at lunch and then take a walk this evening after dinner. Kids♥Art (Art Supply Drive)
The Gloucester High School National Art Honor Society is collecting art supplies for Elementary Art teachers to give out to their students who have shown a significant interest in art.
The goal of Kids♥Art is to provide drawing materials for these children over their summer vacation, including crayons, markers, sketchbooks, pencils, colored pencils, pencil sharpeners, etc. This drive is taking place until May 15th. Supplies can be taken to the Welcome Desk at Gloucester High School or Gloucester Main Library Branch. For more information contact 693-2526.

Each spring visitors are welcomed to over 250 of Virginia’s most beautiful gardens, homes and historic landmarks during “America’s Largest Open House.” This 8-day statewide event provides visitors a unique opportunity to see unforgettable gardens at the peak of Virginia’s springtime color, as well as beautiful houses sparkling with over 2,000 flower arrangements created by Garden Club of Virginia members.
Tour proceeds fund the restoration and preservation of Virginia’s historic gardens, and provide graduate level research fellowships for building comprehensive and ongoing records of historic gardens and landscapes in the Commonwealth, and support the mission of the Garden Club of Virginia.

Join VIMS researcher Molly Roggero as she explores the science and data behind this enormously important global phenomena, and the role of the ocean in regulating climate. Participate in hands-on activities that illustrate some of the effects we may see (or are already seeing), and learn how you can help on a daily basis to alleviate some of the stress being placed on our atmosphere and ocean.
Join Molly Mitchell of the Center for Coastal Resources Management and the marine educators at the Chesapeake Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve for the April Discovery Lab!
